  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour a 9-inch (23 cm) cake pan.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in half of the flour mixture until just combined, then add the milk, followed by the remaining flour mixture.
