Ingredients:
- 12 large scallops, cleaned and patted dry
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small shallot, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Gruyere cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400ยฐF.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped shallot and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the scallops to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute on each side, or until lightly browned. Remove the scallops from the skillet and place them in a shallow baking dish.
- In the same skillet, add the white wine and cook until it has reduced by half, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream to the skillet and cook until it thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the cream sauce over the scallops in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese over the top of the scallops.
